At Maruyama Coffee, we’re involved closely in the steps of the process:
from sourcing the beans to pouring the cup with the faith and messages of the growers.
In 1991, Kentaro Maruyama opened the first Maruyama Coffee café in Karuizawa, a resort town in Nagano Prefecture. Ever since, we’ve built a strong and loyal base of customers in the local community and across Japan.
Kentaro Maruyama is a leading figure in the coffee community. Every year, international tasting competitions convene in coffee-growing countries around the world. Kentaro Maruyama has served on the international juries more than any other judges. Kentaro has also been spending roughly six months out of every year trotting the globe, purchasing top-notch beans selected by himself since the early 2000’s. The focus is on distinctive, high-quality beans, which he purchases directly from growers. Once the beans make their way to Japan, we use our proprietary roasting techniques to turn the raw materials into finished products that retain their inherent charms and deliver rich, flavorful coffee experiences. From wholesalers to individual customers across Japan, people keep coming back to Maruyama Coffee for high-quality coffee. We’re looking forward to giving you the experiences we pride ourselves on.
